'The Montrose' - A wonderful rare example of a Victorian mantel clock by Comitti London and featuring a beautiful, elaborately carved Victoriana design in solid Walnut with a burr walnut veneer on the front panel and finely detailed carving. A key draw is fitted into the cabinet below the clock face - hand rubbed with wax to achive a fine 'antique' patina. The clock face is an enamel finish 7" design with seconds indication at the 12 o'clock position, roman numerals, fine period hands and convex glass. This fine clock features solid bezel and brass furniture with a high quality triple chime movement with jewelled platform escapment, automatic night silencer and chime sequence correction. The triple chime movement plays three melodies; Westminster, Whittington and St. Michael.
