Comitti The Empire Mahogany Grandfather Clock

The Empire from Comitti London, master clock makers since 1850 is a wonderful reproduction of a Chippendale style floor clock by David Rittenhouse, circa 1780. In a solid mahogany cabinet with curl veneers and a decorative carving. The scroll pediment is supported by fine lattice fretwork. The case stands on ogee feet and features fluted quarter columns to the trunk and corinthian pillars to the hood. The hood is removable to allow for movement adjustment, while the cabinet is hand rubbed and waxed to achieve an unmistakably luxurious antique patina. Features a cathedral sound 9 tube triple chime movement with 12 jewels and 24 bronze brushings, and playing the traditional Westminster, Whittington and St. Michaels melodies. Automatic night silencer, chime sequence and beat correction. Completed with a temperature compensated gridiron style pendulum, brass dial with painted moon and gold plated fretwork, bevelled glasses and lacquered solid brass furniture. Production is limited to 25 pieces annually and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
